Fredric Walls

Fredric Walls is Managing Director and Banker Team Lead in the Washington, DC office of J.P. Morgan Private Bank. Fred leads a group of professionals and specialists to offer comprehensive and sophisticated wealth management strategies that help clients pursue their financial goals. 

Fred understands that when individuals engage with the Private Bank, they seek best-in-class practices for the many challenges of wealth. He and his team deliver a financial framework that cares for the personalized needs of each client—lifestyle considerations, estate strategies, philanthropic intent and more. Fred fosters a culture of collaboration that enhances the relationship between clients and team members. He finds it personally rewarding to blend his quantitative capabilities with a collaborative approach to serve as a trusted resource.

Before joining J.P. Morgan, Fred was a Managing Director with Institutional Investment Solutions at SunTrust Bank. In this senior position, he drove the investing of endowment and reserve funds for mission-driven organizations. Previously, he served as a Market Director with PNC Asset Management, and held roles with Prudential Financial and Smith Barney. He began his 30+ year career while simultaneously pursuing his undergraduate degree.

Fred earned an M.B.A. in Finance from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He completed a B.S. in Mathematics from Howard University.

Raised in a family that values service to society, Fred has held leadership positions with several not for profit organizations including: the Advisory Board for the Smithsonian Anacostia Community Museum and the American Bankers Association Trust School Board, the Sibley Hospital Memorial Foundation Investment Committee,  National Park Trust, Alice Ferguson Foundation the Levine School, and Imagination Stage Inc. 

Fred and his family live in Northwest Washington, DC; where they regularly take time to enjoy all the food, arts and culture that the region has to offer.
