Self Empowerment

The Ben’s Chili Bowl Foundation Self Empowerment Experience welcomes one DC public or charter high school class a month to receive a personal empowerment experience from one of our amazing speakers. Monthly Experience topics may include, entrepreneurship, health and wellness, general motivation, African American history, DC history, and more. The students will also enjoy a fabulous meal at Ben’s Chili Bowl, will dine in Ben’s backroom on U ST and will watch the Ben’s Chili Bowl historical video, detailing the history of historic U Street. Further empowerment will include discussion and examples of dedication, hard work, family, service, commitment to community, failures as experience for growth, and striving to be ones best.

This monthly program is provided at no cost by Ben’s Chili Bowl and the Ben’s Chili Bowl Foundation but is ultimately funded by our wonderful sponsors. To sponsor a class of 30 students is only $300 which just covers the actual cost of the food without a markup.  To sponsor this monthly program for a year is only $3,600. To sponsor this program please send us an email at bernie@benschilibowl.com or call Bernard Demczuk at 202-251-1975.
