Sonya Ali

Sonya Ali is a family member and Co-Owner of the Ben’s Chili Bowl Enterprise. Sonya has worn numerous hats in the family enterprise, from Director of Human Resources, Director of Operations, Marketing & Retail Merchandising, and currently oversees all E-commerce and Catering Operations.

Born and raised in the Chicago area, Sonya has called DC home for the past 30+ years. She has been married to Kamal Ben Ali for 27 years and they have 23-year-old twins, Jaleel (GA) and Suraya (CA).

Prior to joining her husband, Ben Jr., in the family business, Mrs. Ali served as a Customer Service expert, curriculum developer, and certified master trainer for the Department of the Navy. Sonya is a retired United States Air Force Reservist with over 20 years of decorated service in Aerospace Medicine.

Mrs. Ali is a founding member of the Ben’s Chili Bowl Foundation She has served on numerous boards, is still active on several as well as volunteering throughout the DMV. Sonya is a member of Leadership Greater Washington (2014) and holds a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Maryland.
